Overview of projects as International Freelancer

I learned to work with software in Wich-Systems BV. The director of Wich-Systems BV was a very experienced software professional.

Here follows a listing of major projects with a duration of at least 6 months.

Van Zanten Van Zanten is the oldest flower-company in Holland.

I analyzed, designed and developed (as Analyst) their total production-, financial- and order-administration on the MAI-computer (UNIX) in Business Basic and AS-400.

The software also maintains their sites in Italy, Brazil, Kenya, Poland and Belgium.

Dutch Auction Center in Aalsmeer The Dutch Auction Center sits in the third largest building in the world, and is at it self also the biggest Flower-Auction in the world.

I designed and developed (as Analyst and Project Manager) the total Auction Management Software (AMS) and the total financial administration of the building. My team contained 300 persons and the software counted prox. 3.5 million lines of code.

The software works on the IBM S36, AS-200 and many PC-terminals (150)

ESA (Noordwijk (Holland) and Barcelona (Spain) ESA stands for European Space Agency (small daughter of the NASA). As Programmer/Analyst I designed and developed the BIORACK-system, which was launched in 1993 with the Columbia.

The system is a process-schedule manager, which is designed to assist the astronauts during their biological experiments. The software is developed in Pascal on the PC.

NASA (Houston (US)) As a follow-up from the BIORACK project, I needed to design and develop the analysis-modules of all the result-data from the BIORACK. I also designed and developed the BIORACK II, which is only used as training/simulation module in NASA.
Intermodel (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, London, Paris, Milan, Rome, New York, L.A.) Intermodel is the biggest model-agency in the world.

I designed and developed model-ordering systems. A client (where ever in the world) could see many models (with photo's and video's), and make bookings for a certain date.

The central computer was in Amsterdam, and sub-centers were in Rotterdam, London, Paris, Milan, Rome, NY, LA).

The software is written in Pascal, C, Clipper and Jennifer on the PC, Macintosh and S36.

(I saw the most beautiful models in the world, but they look very boring)

FreeMedicin (Brussels) This company was a holding company of 50 commercial medical centers for medicine, special medical programs and alternative medicine.

I designed and developed the financial administration and the financial analysis administration. The owner of FreeMedicin liked to sit on his chair somewhere in Paris, and to watch his network working with live financial data of all his companies.

The software is written in Clipper and C on the PC and Macintosh.

Driessen (Holland, Belgium and Germany) Driessen BV is a multi-national special transport company.

I was involved in their real-time transport communication system, which bridged 30 world-wide offices with each other. I designed and developed their tracking system, order-entry and financial administration.

The software is written in Pascal.

French Broadcasting (Paris) I designed and developed the order-entry and program-systems in Business Basic, Pascal and Clipper.

The software was managing all their programs for many years for their radio-programs.

Triangle Services Ltd. (London, Breda (Holland) A service oriented organization in Holland and UK.

I helped to design the systems for SARA (the super-computer in the Amsterdam University) and SARA-2 (follow-up from SARA)

I designed many communication protocols ((secure) encryption with dynamic scrabbled keys) for their customers

Travel Agency "Poepjes" in Eindhoven "Poepjes" is the major travel agency, specialized in traveling from whole Europe to Spain.

I designed and developed their order-entry administration

"Sun-training" Sun-training was a combined effort of ANWB (Dutch organization for travelers) and ISCA (German organization for travelers) to supply software training at locations in Portugal.

I designed this training, which was performed in Portugal, the Rijn (river through Germany and Holland) via cruise-ships.

Randstad Training Center The Randstad Training center was the biggest training supplier in the Benelux. It supplied training of almost everything in software.

I trained classes of students in dBase, C, FoxBASE, Clipper, WordPerfect, Word (versions in DOS and Windows), Lotus, MathCad, DOS, Windows and many other software.

World-champion Programming 1987 During "Computer Days" conference I attended and won the World-Championship Programming and Computing in Amsterdam.

52 Hours of continues programming and an entry in the Guiness Book of records.

I programmed in this 52 hours the GreenPeace Financial Administration and the GreenPeace Event-databases.

Programmer of the Year 1988 Accoring the Dutch/Belgium "Computers en Netwerk Tijdschrift" magazine I was called the Programmer of the Year 1988
Dutch Army I was working in several software-area's
